Description

Mindfulness-based supervision is essential for qualified and trainee mindfulness teachers to deliver high quality teaching and deepen their own experiential learning and practice. It is also an essential requirement of registration with the British Association of Mindfulness-based Approaches.

Mindfulness-based supervision starts with an initial 30 minute contracting session, in which we can clarify if this supervision will meet your needs. The contracting session will involve reviewing the practicalities in more detail and clarifying your context and hopes for supervision. If this session is agreeable to both parties, you will then meet with your supervisor as regularly as you see fit via video-conferencing or phone.

Mindfulness-based supervision is quite different to other types of supervision you may have experienced, such as clinical or managerial supervision. Mindfulness is at the centre of the process, so you will likely begin and end the session with a short practice together. The supervisee is primarily responsible for bringing the content of sessions. The diagram and links below provide more information on the likely content of mindfulness-based supervision.
